Hifz Programme
Become a Bearer of the Book of Allah
Our structured Quran memorisation programme — from the first Surah to the final Juz — guided by qualified huffadh with verified chains of narration, personalised tracking, and a methodology refined over a decade.
Our Philosophy
The Noblest Act: Carrying the Book of Allah
The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.’ At Noorut-Tawheed, Hifz is not merely a memory exercise — it is a spiritual undertaking that transforms the character, discipline, and relationship with Allah of every student who undertakes it. We treat every memorising student as a bearer of a divine trust, and every teacher as a custodian of that trust.
خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ
“The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.”
Programme Structure
Four Memorisation Pathways
Every student is assessed and placed in the appropriate pathway. Advancement to the next level requires teacher sign-off — ensuring quality is never sacrificed for speed.
الأساس
Level 1: Foundation
Noorani Qaida • Juz Amma
Students master the Arabic alphabet, correct letter pronunciation (Makhaarij), and memorise the short Surahs of Juz Amma. This stage prioritises love, patience, and building an unshakeable Tajweed foundation.
- Complete Noorani Qaida with verified pronunciation
- Memorisation of Juz Amma (30th Juz)
- Introduction to core Tajweed rules
- Daily Quran habit established
المتوسط
Level 2: Intermediate
Juz-by-Juz Memorisation
Structured memorisation proceeds one juz at a time, with each session comprising a new lesson (Sabaq), recent revision (Sabaqi Sabaq), and a older portion (Manzil). Progress is tracked weekly and parents receive half-term reports.
- Memorisation of 10–20 ajzaaʼ of the Quran
- Intermediate Tajweed rules applied consistently
- Strong Muraajaa discipline established
- Weekly one-on-one recitation assessment
المتقدم
Level 3: Advanced
Full Hifz • Sanad Review
Completion of the full 30 ajzaaʼ under close daily supervision. Advanced students attend extended Hifz sessions and undergo rigorous weekly recitation of their entire memorised portion, ensuring no portion weakens.
- Complete memorisation of the Quran (30 ajzaaʼ)
- Full Tajweed mastery across all rules
- Ability to recite entire Quran from memory with confidence
- Regular Muraajaa of the full Quran maintained
الإجازة
Level 4: Graduate
Ijāzah Preparation
Selected graduates who complete their Hifz are prepared for formal ijāzah — an unbroken chain of narration (sanad) connecting their recitation back to the Prophet ﷺ. This is the pinnacle of the Quranic tradition.
- Recitation standard certified by external qualified examiner
- Deep knowledge of Tajweed science (Ilm al-Tajweed)
- Isnaad (chain of narration) documented and verified
- Qualification to teach and transmit the Quran
التجويد
Tajweed: The Art of Recitation
Tajweed is the science of reciting the Quran as the Prophet ﷺ recited it — with precise articulation of every letter, correct vowel lengths, and proper application of the rules that govern how letters interact. At Noorut-Tawheed, Tajweed is not taught as an optional extra: it is the standard against which every student's recitation is measured from their very first lesson.
We begin with the Noorani Qaida method, systematically teaching Makhaarij and Sifaat before students begin memorisation. Tajweed rules are introduced in context as they arise within the Surah being memorised — making the rules memorable because they are immediately applied.

المراجعة
Revision & Consolidation
Memorisation without revision is like water poured into a cracked vessel. Our Muraājaʼ (revision) system is as rigorous as the memorisation itself — because a hafidh who forgets what they have memorised has a grave responsibility.
Additional Revision Practices
- Night revision sessions encouraged — the Quran “slips away” and must be held
- Peer revision pairs: students test each other under teacher supervision
- Monthly Khatm (full recitation) events for advanced students
- Annual Quran competition with prizes for top reciters
The Three-Part Session Structure
سبق
Sabaq — New Lesson
New verses memorised with the teacher today — always checked for correct Tajweed before moving on.
سبقي سبق
Sabaqi Sabaq — Recent Revision
Revision of the last 2–3 days' newly memorised lessons — ensuring the new portion is firmly established.
منزل
Manzil — Old Portion
A full para (juz) from earlier memorised sections recited to keep the entire Quran alive in memory.
Our Teachers
Expert Teachers. Personal Attention.
Every child’s Hifz journey is unique. Our teacher model ensures no student is left behind and no student is held back.
Low Student-to-Teacher Ratio
A maximum of 6–8 students per teacher ensures every child receives individual attention, feedback, and encouragement at every session.
Personal Hifz Diary
Each student maintains a Hifz diary logging today's lesson, revision target, and teacher notes — creating accountability and visibility for students and parents.
Weekly Recitation Test
Every student recites their full week’s work to the teacher for formal assessment — with written feedback shared in the Hifz diary.
Pastoral Plateau Support
When students hit a memorisation plateau, our teachers diagnose the cause and adjust the approach — more revision, pace adjustment, or one-on-one support.
Age-Appropriate Learning
Hifz for Every Stage
Our programme is carefully calibrated for every age — from the youngest Pre-Nursery toddlers and Nursery learners through Primary and Secondary students — different in pace, depth, and approach, united in purpose.
Pre-Nursery Quran (Ages 4–5)
Our youngest learners meet the Qur’an through sound, song, and joyful repetition. Short Surahs are introduced gently in 5–10 minute circles, planting the seeds of love for the Book of Allah long before formal study begins.
- Listening circles to recordings of Juz Amma
- Repetition of Al-Fatiha and Al-Ikhlas as group recitation
- Arabic letter sounds through play, songs, and visuals
- Pre-writing strokes to prepare the hand for Arabic script
- Du‘a before eating, sleeping, and entering class
- Praise and affection as the primary motivators
Nursery Quran (Ages 5–6)
Nursery students begin structured Qur’anic literacy through Noorani Qaida and the memorisation of short Surahs from Juz Amma. Sessions are short, warm, and full of repetition — building accuracy and confidence in correct pronunciation.
- Noorani Qaida — Arabic letter recognition and phonics
- Memorisation of Juz Amma short Surahs (Al-Fatiha to Al-Asr)
- Correct Makhaarij introduced from day one
- Group recitation rituals during morning assembly
- Daily 15–20 minute focused Qur’an circles
- Simple Hifz diary stickers shared with parents weekly
Primary Hifz (P1–P6)
Young children's hearts are like soft earth — the Quran takes root easily when the conditions are right. Our primary Hifz sessions are warm, encouraging, and perfectly calibrated to young attention spans.
- Short daily sessions: 20–30 minutes of focused recitation
- Noorani Qaida and Juz Amma as the central focus
- Circle-based recitation with peers for community and accountability
- Heavy use of praise, reward, and positive reinforcement
- Tajweed foundations — correct from the very first letter
- Parents kept closely involved with weekly updates
Secondary Hifz (JSS1–SSS3)
Secondary students bring discipline, focus, and a greater capacity for sustained effort. Our secondary Hifz track extends sessions, deepens Tajweed study, and sets serious completion targets for capable students.
- Extended sessions: 45–60 minutes of morning Hifz daily
- Juz-by-juz advancement with rigorous weekly assessments
- Advanced Tajweed rules integrated with memorisation
- Dedicated Hifz track for students targeting full completion
- Ijazah preparation for selected SSS2–SSS3 students
- Integration with Arabic language classes for deeper comprehension
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ
“Indeed, it is We who sent down the Reminder and indeed, We will be its guardian.”
