Islamic Studies

A Complete Islamic Sciences Education

Aqeedah, Fiqh, Seerah, Tafseer, Hadith, and Islamic History — taught from primary texts by qualified scholars. Our Islamic Studies curriculum gives every graduate a genuine foundation in the religious sciences.

Our Philosophy

A Complete Curriculum of the Islamic Sciences

Islamic Studies at Noorut-Tawheed is not a single period on a timetable — it is a complete curriculum of the religious sciences, taught by qualified scholars who have studied these subjects formally at institution level. Students graduate with the same foundational Islamic education once reserved for students of classical Islamic seminaries, alongside their full modern secondary qualifications.

شَهِدَ اللَّهُ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ وَأُولُو الْعِلْمِ

Allah witnesses that there is no deity except Him, and so do the angels and those of knowledge.
Surah Ali Imran 3:18

The Curriculum

Six Disciplines of the Islamic Sciences

Each subject is taught as a distinct discipline with its own methodology, texts, and progression pathway — integrated into a coherent whole by qualified Islamic educators.

Islamic Creed

Aqeedah

العقيدة

The correct belief of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jamaʿah — the names and attributes of Allah, the pillars of Iman, and the refutation of theological deviations — taught systematically from introductory texts to classical matn study at senior level.

P3+: Pillars of Iman, basic Tawheed
JSS: Al-Usool al-Thalathah study
SSS: Al-Aqeedah al-Wasitiyyah and classical texts

Islamic Jurisprudence

Fiqh

الفقه

Practical Islamic law covering Taharah, Salah, Zakah, Sawm, Hajj, and the Fiqh of transactions, family, and ethics. Students are taught not just rulings but evidences — understanding why, not just what.

P1+: Wudhu, Salah, basic Halal/Haram
JSS: Ibadaat Fiqh from classical primer
SSS: Muʿamalaat and contemporary Fiqh issues

Prophetic Biography

Seerah

السيرة

The life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ — from his noble birth to his passing — studied not as history alone but as a source of practical guidance, leadership lessons, and deep love for the Messenger of Allah.

P1+: Stories of the Prophet ﷺ and Companions
JSS: Chronological Seerah narrative
SSS: Analytical Seerah and lessons in leadership

Quranic Exegesis

Tafseer

التفسير

The study of Quranic interpretation — understanding context, reasons for revelation (Asbab al-Nuzul), linguistic meanings, and the applied message. Tafseer is taught in direct connection with Hifz to deepen understanding alongside memorisation.

P4+: Meanings of memorised Surahs
JSS: Tafseer of last 5 Ajzaa by classical scholars
SSS: Systematic Tafseer study with Arabic commentary

Prophetic Traditions

Hadith & Mustalah

الحديث والمصطلح

Selected authentic Hadith from Al-Arbaeen al-Nawawiyyah and Riyad al-Saliheen studied for guidance and action, alongside an introduction to Hadith sciences (Mustalah al-Hadith) at senior level.

P3+: Selected Arbaeen Hadith with meanings
JSS: Riyad al-Saliheen thematic study
SSS: Mustalah al-Hadith — authentication, classification

Civilisation & Heritage

Islamic History

التاريخ الإسلامي

The glorious history of the Muslim Ummah — from the rightly guided Caliphs through the golden age of Islamic civilisation to the modern era. Students understand where they come from and what they are capable of.

P1+: Stories of the Sahabah
JSS: The Rightly-Guided Caliphs and early expansion
SSS: Islamic civilisation and its contributions to humanity

Teaching Methodology

Scholarship, Not Rote Learning

Every Islamic Studies subject at Noorut-Tawheed is taught from a primary text — a classical or reliable modern primer appropriate to the level. Students do not only receive information from teachers; they engage with the text directly, building the habit of going back to sources that defines a true student of knowledge.

Text-Based Study

Each subject is anchored in a classical or reviewed primary text — from Matn Al-Ajurrumiyyah to Riyadh al-Saliheen — so students are always connected to the tradition.

Evidence-Centred Teaching

Rulings and beliefs are always traced back to their evidence — Quran, authenticated Hadith, or scholarly consensus. Students learn how to think Islamically, not just what to think.

Qualified Scholar-Teachers

All Islamic Studies teachers hold formal ijazahs or institutional qualifications in their subject. A teacher of Fiqh has studied Fiqh formally; a teacher of Aqeedah has studied Aqeedah formally.

Integrated Curriculum

Aqeedah is taught alongside Tafseer. Seerah informs Fiqh. Arabic unlocks all subjects. The curriculum is deliberately interconnected so students see Islam as a living, unified whole.

Stage Adaptation

Islamic Studies at Every Stage

From Seerah stories to classical matn texts — the Islamic sciences curriculum grows in depth and rigour as the student grows in knowledge and maturity.

Pre-Nursery Section

Pre-Nursery Islamic Studies (Ages 4–5)

Ages 4–5

Our youngest students meet Islam through love, warmth, and gentle daily rituals. They learn that Allah created them, that He loves them, and that they belong to a beautiful Deen — communicated through stories, songs, and the rhythm of the classroom day.

  • “Allah is my Creator” — introduced through nature and stories
  • Daily du‘a before eating, sleeping, and entering the bathroom
  • Islamic greetings (As-salamu ‘alaykum) practised constantly
  • Stories of the Prophet ﷺ as a kind shepherd and friend
  • Names of Allah introduced visually and through song
  • Modelling of good manners (sharing, kindness, gentle voices)

Nursery Section

Nursery Islamic Studies (Ages 5–6)

Ages 5–6

Nursery children begin a more structured introduction to the basics of Islam — the Five Pillars in simple language, basic acts of worship through observation, and stories of the Prophets that build their love for the messengers of Allah.

  • Five Pillars of Islam taught through stories and visuals
  • Wudhu and Salah movements practised playfully
  • Stories of Prophets Ibrahim, Musa, and Muhammad ﷺ
  • Daily du‘a list expanded to 10–12 key supplications
  • Islamic months and special days (Ramadan, Eid) introduced
  • Adab: respect for parents, teachers, and the Qur’an

Primary Section

Primary Islamic Studies (P1–P6)

Ages 6–11

Young students learn Islam through stories, practice, and community. The primary curriculum emphasises love of Allah and His Messenger ﷺ, correct Aqeedah in simple terms, and the habits of worship that will shape their entire lives.

  • Pillars of Islam and Iman taught as personal convictions, not facts
  • Seerah through stories — the Prophet ﷺ as a living model
  • Wudhu, Salah, and daily duas taught with understanding
  • Islamic manners (Adab) woven through every lesson
  • Regular Quran application — Surahs connected to their meanings
  • Islamic arts and creativity integrated into Islamic Studies

Secondary Section

Secondary Islamic Studies (JSS1–SSS3)

Ages 11–18

Secondary students transition from learning about Islam to studying it rigorously — engaging with classical texts, understanding evidence, and developing the critical Islamic thinking skills needed for adult life.

  • Classical primer texts introduced at JSS level
  • Aqeedah studied from Al-Aqeedah al-Wasitiyyah at SSS level
  • Fiqh of contemporary issues addressed with evidence
  • Hadith science (Mustalah) introduced at senior secondary
  • Islamic History: critical analysis of the Muslim experience
  • All subjects prepared for external Islamic examination where available

فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ

So know that there is no deity except Allah.

Surah Muhammad 47:19
