Arabic Language
Speak the Language of the Quran
From the first letter of the alphabet to reading classical Islamic scholarship — our Arabic programme takes students through four structured levels, equipping them with the language of divine revelation.
Our Philosophy
The Language of the Quran is Your Key to the Tradition
Arabic is not merely a foreign language — it is the tongue of divine revelation, the medium of Islamic scholarship, and the key to unlocking fourteen centuries of accumulated wisdom. Every Muslim who deepens their Arabic gains direct access to the words of Allah and the words of His Messenger ﷺ without an intermediary. At Noorut-Tawheed, Arabic is a sacred pursuit.
إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
“Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Quran that you might understand.”
Programme Structure
Four Arabic Language Levels
Every student is assessed and placed at the appropriate entry level. Advancement requires teacher sign-off — ensuring genuine mastery before progression.

- Reading and analysing unvowelled classical texts
- Understanding of Balaghah and Arabic rhetoric
- Academic written Arabic for higher education
- Ability to benefit directly from classical Islamic scholarship
Methodology
Classical Grammar, Living Languageالنحو والصرف
Nahw (syntax) and Sarf (morphology) are the twin pillars of classical Arabic mastery. We introduce grammar not as an abstract set of rules to memorise, but as tools that reveal the beauty and precision of the Arabic language. Every grammar rule is demonstrated using Quranic examples — so students see immediately why it matters.
We follow a spiral curriculum: grammar rules are introduced simply, revisited at greater depth, and always reinforced through reading real texts. From JSS1, students begin reading simplified classical texts (Matn literature) before advancing to standard scholarly Arabic in senior secondary.

الكتابة

Stage Adaptation
Arabic Across Every Stage
Our Arabic programme is carefully calibrated to the age, capacity, and prior knowledge of every cohort — from Pre-Nursery and Nursery learners through Primary and Secondary scholars-in-training.
Pre-Nursery Section
Pre-Nursery Arabic (Ages 4–5)
Ages 4–5
Pre-Nursery children meet Arabic as a living, joyful language. Letter sounds, simple greetings, and the names of everyday objects are introduced through songs, gestures, and play — so Arabic becomes part of the child long before any reading begins.
- Arabic alphabet sounds through music and movement
- Daily greetings: As-salamu ‘alaykum, Sabah al-khayr
- Names of colours, animals, and family in Arabic
- Listening circles to short Arabic nasheeds
- Pre-writing strokes shaping fingers for Arabic script
- Print-rich classroom: Arabic labels on every object
Nursery Section
Nursery Arabic (Ages 5–6)
Ages 5–6
Nursery students begin systematic Arabic literacy through Noorani Qaida — letter recognition, vowel sounds, and the first joining of letters into words. Oral Arabic remains the priority, with the teacher modelling simple Arabic instructions throughout the day.
- Noorani Qaida — letter recognition and phonics
- First Arabic vocabulary: 50+ everyday words
- Letter writing practice with proper stroke order
- Simple Arabic conversations in classroom routines
- Songs and chants reinforcing letter shapes and sounds
- Bridge to formal reading in Primary 1
Primary Section
Primary Arabic (P1–P6)
Ages 6–11
Young learners absorb Arabic most naturally when it is embedded in songs, repetition, and classroom routines. Our primary Arabic programme creates a rich Arabic environment around students — on classroom walls, in greeting routines, and in the Quranic vocabulary they encounter daily.
- Noorani Qaida as the foundational literacy tool
- Daily oral vocabulary building through songs and repetition
- Arabic writing practice — letters, words, simple sentences
- Quran recitation provides daily Arabic listening input
- Teacher switches to Arabic greetings and simple instructions from P1
- Basic Islamic vocabulary integrated into morning assembly
Secondary Section
Secondary Arabic (JSS1–SSS3)
Ages 11–18
Secondary Arabic students move from learning the language to using it as a tool for Islamic scholarship. They read classical texts, engage with Tafseer in Arabic, and develop the grammatical analysis skills needed for higher Islamic studies.
- Systematic Nahw and Sarf using classical matn texts
- Classical text reading: Aqeedah, Fiqh, and Seerah extracts
- Balaghah (rhetoric) introduced at SSS level
- Arabic as the medium of instruction in Islamic Sciences classes
- Integration with Quran Hifz for vocabulary and comprehension
- University entrance Arabic preparation for overseas Islamic institutions
